how chair yoga became my breath of fresh air at a time when my body needed gentle care.It was during a difficult period. My foot and knee were hurting, preventing me from doing my usual yoga practice. I felt frustrated, stuck. And yet... I discovered something deeply soothing: chair yoga.
Sitting down, breathing deeply, I felt my tension melt away. My spine straightened, my mind calmed down. The best part? All I needed was a chair, 5 to 15 minutes, and my breath.👉 Chair yoga isn’t just for seniors or those in recovery. Energize Your Life with Chair Yoga!
At 31, my body would give out on me several times a year. Stuck, hunched over, unable to walk properly, I had to lie down with pillows to ease the pain. Each time, it lasted for weeks. But my back issues didn’t start overnight—they began when I was 16, and at 31, they became much more intense. Doctors gave me muscle relaxers, but I wanted a real solution.
So, I turned to yoga—not just the poses, but also breathwork, meditation, self-massage, and truly listening to my body. With the guidance of professionals* and a consistent practice, I realized that my posture was deeply connected to my history. Even before I was born, a deep sorrow weighed on my family—my older brother passed away while my mother was pregnant with me. Without knowing it, my body had built tension as a way to protect me from this invisible pain.
Changing my posture also meant changing my way of living, releasing what I had been unconsciously holding. Little by little, I regained mobility, strength, and, most importantly, freedom.
Today, I practice every day, sometimes in bed, sometimes on my mat, sometimes on a chair, using simple and accessible movements. And this is the approach I want to share with you: yoga that adapts to you, no matter your body, schedule, or experience level.
